The development of lighter wall, higher grade steel pipe for use with mechanical jointing /coupling has offered reduced costs for the industry, both in terms of material and labour.
 
A further consequence of this is the opportunity to vary firepipe design sizes and the type of pipe product used in a project, by incorporating the reduced pressure-drop offered by light wall steel pipes.
 
We have created full specification tables to assist pipe fabrication designers in optimising the use of mechanically jointed light wall steel pipes in SMARTCOTE®, ALLGAL® or Hot Dipped Galvanised Pipes.
